Weekly Announcements & Prayer Requests - November 18, 2007
November 18th, 2007
Please send an email to WCOCNEWS@aol.com if you have any questions regarding the announcements.
HOPE for Children currently has children from China and India that are in need of adoptive families. These children do have some specials needs. Originally we had 10 children from China and through your help 6 of them now have families! Our India program was given 12 children to place and now 6 of them now have families! Praise God for moving in the hearts of the families that have come forward to adopt these children. Since these children have been assigned to HFC, once a home study and document preparation is completed, the wait time should be less than 6 months. Thank you, The Hope for Children Staff
The WCCOC will hold its Annual Meeting on Wednesday, 12/5. We will also hold an election that evening to fill three seats on the Board of Directors. The Leadership Group is currently preparing a list of nominees to be presented to the membership on Sunday, November 25, 2007. This will give each member ten days to consider the candidates and pray about their decisions. If any member has a suggestion about someone they believe the Leadership Group should consider for inclusion in the list of nominees, we would love to hear from you. Please speak to Tom Caswell or Chris Efstathion no later than Wednesday November 19th.
Angel Trees are here! Once again, we are having our annual Christmas Angel Tree (located by the podium) for the Home for Little Wanderers, a home for kids in need. Some are displaced and some are part of a family in need but spend time at the Home. If you choose to participate, please take as many Angels as you are able and return the unwrapped gift with the Angel attached at our Christmas Banquet on Dec. 7th. Please keep in mind that the toys or sizes might not seem to match the age of the child but some of the children have developmental delays as well as physical limitations. If you have any questions, please see Chris or Michelle Charon.
Sherry’s House in Worcester is in need of volunteers. Sherry’s House is a home that meets the needs of children in New England who are undergoing treatments for childhood cancer and their families. They are in need of volunteers to clean the house. The house is very large with many rooms but any consistent cleaning time you are able to donate would be appreciated. Please see Chris or Michelle with questions.
Christmas Banquet: The annual Christmas Banquet is scheduled for Friday, December 7th, beginning at 7:00. Dinner will be served at 7:30. Please register with Lori Maday as soon as possible, even if you do not pay right away, since we need a head count. Cost is estimated at $15 for adults (12+), kids 6-11 $7.50 and kids under six are free. There will be a movie for the kids, like last year.
Prayer Requests:
Carol Gannon: is recovering at home from back surgery. Calls, cards or visits would be appreciated.
