Weekly Announcements, December Birthday’s & Prayer Requests - December 9, 2007
December 9th, 2007
Please send an email to WCOCNEWS@aol.com if you have any questions regarding the announcements.
HOPE for Children currently has children from China and India that are in need of adoptive families. These children do have some specials needs. Originally we had 10 children from China and through your help 6 of them now have families! Our India program was given 12 children to place and now 6 of them now have families! Praise God for moving in the hearts of the families that have come forward to adopt these children. Since these children have been assigned to HFC, once a home study and document preparation is completed, the wait time should be less than 6 months. Thank you, The Hope for Children Staff
The WCCOC will hold its Annual Meeting and Election on Wednesday, 12/19. As announced at our All Church Midweek last night, we will hold our General Meeting and Election on Wednesday, December 19, 2007, during All Church Midweek. We will be filling three positions on our Board of Directors. Any member may nominate another member, with their consent, who they believe possesses both the business acumen and spiritual fitness to represent God’s church in a manner that glorifies Him. The nominee candidates will be reviewed by the Board, then the Leadership Group, to establish a final list of nominees that will appear on the ballot. The members will be notified as to the names that will appear on the ballot no later than December 12, 2007. If you wish to nominate a member, you must submit the completed form, signed by the nominee, to Jim Curtin, no later than the close of this Sunday’s service, December 9, 2007.
Hearts Tournament: On Saturday, December 22nd at 6:00 p.m., we will be having our First Annual WCCOC Hearts Tournament. It will be held at the Jette’s house and we’ll order out pizza. Please let us know ASAP if you’re interested, so that we can decide on the format of play. Further details, talk to Eric Jette or Tom Caswell.
Sherry’s House in Worcester is in need of volunteers. Sherry’s House is a home that meets the needs of children in New England who are undergoing treatments for childhood cancer and their families. They are in need of volunteers to clean the house. The house is very large with many rooms but any consistent cleaning time you are able to donate would be appreciated.
