Albania 2008: The leadership team is putting together plans for our encouragement trips to Albania for 2008. If any member of the Worcester Church would be interested in traveling to Albania this year, please submit a short letter to Tom Caswell, by 4/20/08. List why you feel that it would be beneficial for you to go. Each member will be responsible for their own food and housing costs - estimated between $400 -$700 per person for the week.
Special Contribution: We will be collecting our Special Contribution during the month of May. Our goal is $54,000, or 10x our regular contribution. Please be planning and praying now, so that we may make our goal.
Men’s Breakfast: Invitation cards are available today for our Men’s Breakfast – “READY FOR ACTION” Sunday, May 4, at Gates Lane School. Our guest speaker will be Doug Arthur. Please take up to 10 invitations each.
Men’s Night CD: We have a recording of Wednesday night’s class by Chris Efstahion and Jerry Maday. See Alan Capewell if you’d like a free copy. It covers II Timothy 3:1-5 and overcoming “ a form of godliness.”
Pajama Drive: Today is the last day we will be having a Pajama Drive for children in need from the Worcester County Department of Social Services! Most children arrive at DSS with only the clothes they are wearing. You can help make these children and babies feel a little warmer at night by donating new pajama’s, diapers or underwear ranging in sizes from preemie to teens. Please look for the boxes specially marked for our Pajama Drive. Any questions, please contact Chris or Michelle Charon at 508-845-5399.
Hope Youth Corps: There are 100 HOPE Youth Corps spots available. Application process closes April 15. Please sign up on the HOPE worldwide website now! There are 40 AmeriCorps spots available, which include $1,000 scholarship and $1,000 stipend for each student. Qualified AmeriCorps candidates should be 18 years of age or older. Information is also available on the HOPE worldwide website.
Kids Kingdom Announcements: Move up time!
- (Infants and 2s/3s move up to next class on their birthdays as usual).
- Pre-K/K, 1st /2nd, 3rd/4th will move up at the start of the May rotation (Sunday May 11th). Their KK class is determined by the grade they will be in at school in September.
- Preteens entering the 7th grade in September will move up into teens after summer camp.
Teachers are needed to serve for the next rotation starting Sunday May 11th. (May-August) Current openings are in Infants (4), 1st/2nd grade (2) and Pre-teens (1). Please let Pat or Kate know if you can serve (katebars@hotmail.com). Thanks very much! Any new infants ready to come to class? Please let us know ASAP for planning purposes.
No Kids’ Kingdom: There will be no Kids’ Kingdom at the evening services on April 28 and May 5th.
Patryce Hudspeth: Patryce has been in the hospital in Worcester and could use our prayers and encouragement.
