Please send an email to WCOCNEWS@aol.com if you have any questions regarding the announcements

2009 Marriage Retreat – A Mighty Flame:  The theme of this year’s marriage retreat is ROMANCE!  Registration is $20 for all attendees.  The retreat will be held April 17 – 19 at Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort.  Room costs (in addition to registration) are as follows: 1 bedroom suite $115 per night (ex. 2 nights would be $230 for the weekend); 2 bedroom condo $179 per night; for couples who want to split costs it is $180 per couple per night; 3 bedroom condos are available @ $199 per night (for a couple who wants to split it w/another couple).  There will be a dance/party on Saturday night.  The program begins at 11 am on Saturday morning.   See Sandy Meindersma to register and pay.  Registration closes on April 5.

Sermon Series:  We will be looking at five of Jesus’ “I am” statements from the book of John, beginning today and going through the end of April.  These statements, which Jesus used to define his identity, are some of the most controversial statements in the Bible.  The text for today’s message is John 14:6, and the lesson can be found online at our website at www.worcesterchurch.org

Bible Talk Leaders’ Meeting:  There will be a meeting for Bible Talk Leaders and their assistants next Sunday, April 5, after church.

Kids’ Kingdom:  The next rotation starts on May 3.  Teachers are needed to inspire, train and mold the hearts of the next generation.  See Pat or Kate Bars to volunteer.

Special Contribution:  We will be collecting our special contribution during the month of May.  Please be praying and planning now.

Child Care Help is needed with child care during the monthly leadership meetings. The meeting is usually on the first Sunday of each month and goes from 12:30PM to approx 3:00PM. The location is at the church building and anyone participating would want to bring their lunch. Anyone interested in serving in this way can contact Cherie O’Connor at (508) 373-2657 or send her an email at catwoman4ever@msn.com.

Collection for Food Pantry:  Cassie Capewell is collecting nonperishable food items to be given to the Sutton Food Pantry.  Inexpensive everyday items such as macaroni and cheese, canned soup and kid snack items are greatly appreciated.  The Blackstone Valley Youth Leadership Academy is sponsoring the event on April 4th at Goretti’s Supermarket in Millbury.   Any donated items may be given to the Capewells in the next 2 weeks or you may call Cassie for more information at 508-865-5515.

It’s a Girl!  Welcome to Mia Marie Waire, born to James and Michelle, on March 10.  Mother and baby are home and doing well.  Congratulations to all!
