Parenthood – If you have kids or are even thinking about having them, you won’t want to miss this 3 week series that explores what God’s word has to say about all things parental. Whether they are brawling, crawling, walking, talking, driving you crazy, or asking to drive the car, kids are a gift from God. He also gives us some very clear guidance and insight on how to raise them. Please join us Wednesdays November 9, 16, and 30th at 7:00 here at the SDA building.

November 9: “Love and Discipline” Tony and Melanie Singh
November 16: “Building Relationships with your Kids” Mike and Laura Fix
November 30: “Who Sets the Standard?” Jeff & Florence Schachenger

Adoption Seminar: Talking about Trans-racial Adoption:

Discovering where adoption, race and Christianity blend together.

Attendance is open to all first/birth parents, adult adoptees, adoptive parents, and others touched by adoption.

Saturday November 19th, 1:00 – 2:30 pm

Pioneer Valley Church of Christ, 85 Montcalm Ave. Chicopee , MA

Description: In the U.S. Census 2000, adopted children represented at least 2.5% of the 84 million children of householders. Since that census report, American lives touched by adoption are on the rise. When adoptions cross racial and cultural lines, it adds an extra dimension for parenting and educating alike. In an artful blend of the presenter’s narrative and group facilitation, participants will draw on their own experiences to dialogue about the joys and challenges of transracial adoption, racial identity formation, biblical perspectives of adoption and how the Christian community can help support and embrace families formed through adoption.
